Do we take care of bookkeeping? Of course! But here at Swyft Books, we do more than crunch numbers. We help entrepreneurs succeed by understanding their finances and reaching their financial goals. Whether working out of a garage or a mom-and-pop shop, we design our powerful reporting software to help small business owners nationwide.

We are searching for an experienced bookkeeper to initially help clients get started with their books while also building a team. As the Bookkeeping Manager, we need you to take charge of creating, implementing, and executing accounting processes and procedures. Therefore, we are looking for problem solvers who can think on their feet and self-starters who are comfortable taking the initiative in a knowledge-intensive, energetic, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and manage a team of bookkeepers
  • Develop and maintain effective and standard bookkeeping policies and procedures so that all clients are receiving the same level of service and staff are following the same methodology
  • Develop a working relationship with clients, employees, and other partners of the organization
  • Build and maintain effective professional relationships with clients
  • Serve as a consultative resource to clients with ability to read and analyze financial statements and display understanding of basic tax concepts
  • Manage the upkeep and completion of documentation of bookkeeping processes and internal controls for each client
  • Maintain client documents and files electronically – keep detailed notes regarding the client’s business goals and needs
  • Communicate with team to understand requirements and expectations, clarify processes, and provide regular updates regarding status of books and other outstanding items
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all client deliverables and clarifications
  • Build relationships with other members of management to identify, develop, and establish inter-department synergies
  • Assist team with new client on-boarding, set up, and communication
  • Most importantly, instill confidence and security with the customers!

What You'll Need:

  • 5+ years of Bookkeeping experience required
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team preferred
  • Associate's degree or above preferred
  • Ability or experience in creating, implementing, and executing new processes and procedures
  • Experience working in a small business or start-up preferred
  • Effective communication and the ability to explain complicated terms and data to non-technical audiences
  • Positive attitude, ambition and self-motivation (no one likes to be micromanaged!)
